Shopping :)

Sometimes I swear I live a champagne lifestyle on a lemonade budget.

Had Breakfast out and then went shopping today. It was dangerous. Sunday morning is just the perfect time for shopping. No-one else around and shop assistants so eager to help you.

That said, it would be rude not to buy anything. So I splashed out on a gorgeous new top in my obsession of the week leopard print. I’m looking for some leopard print shoes under £30 and so if anyone knows where to get some, please let me know!!

The New Years Resolutions are going well, as I have written my 2nd blog of the year and lost 4lbs already! yay flat stomach is back! My essay has over 600 words written and Sunderland v Arsenal is in the pipeline. How are your Resolutions going?

xx

oh p.s Providing Arsenal beat Leeds we play Aston Villa at home in the 4th Round of the FA Cup

New Year’s Resolutions

1. I promise to get back into writing my blog again!

2. I will go to see Sunderland v Arsenal this year

3. Write my bloody essay for Uni (3,000 words no less)

4. Stop flirting so much (I can’t help it – it comes far too naturally to me)

oh and of course

5. Lose half a stone

New Years Resolutions – what’s the point? We eat and drink far too much over Xmas, get fat; then complain about how we need to change our lives to become better people. We make New Years Resolutions, don’t stick to them, and end up feeling even crappier than we did before hand. Raise your hand if you agree.
So this will be interesting, who thinks I will actually stick to these resolutions? (comment below) and I’d love to hear your resolutions, it might actually inspire me to carry on this blog!

Happy New Year

Christmas Buzz!

What have I done in the last couple of weeks? hmmm… not an awful lot if I’m honest. Apart from doing the odd spot of Xmas shopping, working, and attending the occasional party of course!

Looking forward to the next few weeks, as they are my favourite of the year. Christmas is a time when the oldest person can behave like a child! And although I am only 20 – I still get SO excited about Christmas. My parents still send me advent calendars which I love, and the excitement has not changed in years about opening each little door!

I went for a walk into town last week and saw the Fenwicks window all decorated and playing Christmas music. Parents were lined up nineteen to the dozen with their children waiting to show them the story of the window. I did tweet a picture of this, find it @lauren_miles.

Most of all at Christmas I love seeing and spending time with my family. It’s definitely my favourite time of year! From the 1st December I act like the biggest kid around – the office is definitely in for some treats! :)

Christmas Tree :)

Time for a Rant…

Time for a rant type blog now. Rah’s. ugh. For those of you that don’t know, Rah’s are jumped up little rich kids (or that’s what they think) that wear Hollister, Abercrombie + Fitch, and Jack Wills far too much. They don’t brush their hair, and the men insist on wearning long shorts and flip flops in the Winter.

The above does not make any sense whatsoever, and irritates me too much. When in clubs they form circles with their elbows out, and if you ask politely if you can get past, they give you the dirtiest look ever like you just ran over their dog and how dare you talk to them.

An amusing thing is that 95% of them are fake. They don’t have any money at all, they are just clones of each other and ALL students!

I know I live in Oxford and its kind of where Rah’s came from, but still; I don’t know what is worse, Chav’s or Rah’s. It would just be nice if you could tell them apart, they just look identical. Get your own style.

Rant over! x

Beeped by an Aston Martin

Walking along Jesmond’s main high street yesterday morning on my way to Waitrose as I had absolutely no food in my fridge, I was minding my own business, completely absorbed in my phone as usual, when out of nowhere a horn beeps.

I ignore it expecting to see the usual culprit of a Citroen Saxo, or some other zooped up chav car drive past, but no it was a top of the range Aston Martin with a personalised number plate. Honestly. I kid you not.

I don’t know anywhere else in the country where this would occur. Personally, I blame some footballer, but with the tinted windows may it impossible to see who it was.

For one, I can’t believe that I got beeped. And two. I can’t believe it was an Aston Martin. I absolutely love these cars, if only they had stopped and asked for my number.

Oh well. A girl can dream :)

I have returned

well… this is slightly embarrassing, I have not posted a blog for over a month!! Someone come round and sort me out immediately. I have let the side down. I have noticed however that since I have not been blogging Arsenal have played considerably better football. (or RVP has). Long may this continue.

I have been home to the countryside for a week, being completely spoilt rotten. I have also made a trip to the furthest south you can go in this country to cornwall in this time. I’ve eaten my body weight in pasties, cream teas and fish and chips. And I bloody loved every moment of it.

I am back to the north pole tomorrow (aka newcastle) fully prepared for the winter ahead. Here is a warning to work: I will be coming into the office wearing pj’s and/or a onesie at some point. I think I might even buy a pair of comedy office slippers, what does everyone else think? hehe.

If I don’t post again soon, please please nag me to on twitter (@lauren_miles). weeeeeeeeeeeeeee xx

Arsenal v Bolton

Not going to lie been a long time since I’ve done a blog purely because I couldn’t bare how abysmal Arsenal have been of late. I know a lot of you will now slate me and say I’m a fair weather fan – I’m really not. I just don’t like to dwell on Arsenal’s failures! I’m a positive person looking forward to Arsenal triumphing over the Champions League this year. It was nice to have an encouraging game today after weeks defeat to Blackburn through Arsenal’s own shocking defence.

The star of the show today was undoubtedly Robin Van Persie who not only scored twice – but also happened to score his 99th and 100th Arsenal goals. Congratulations big man.

Arsenal this game managed to keep a clean sheet, and actually have a convincing win 2nd win of the season over depleted 10 man Bolton. David Wheater was sent off 54 mins into the game for tugging Theo Walcott and shown a straight red (quite rightly so as he had been fouling an awful lot in the game).

After Robin Van Persie scored his two goals, Alex Song then scored a 3rd for a comprehensive victory. There were many more chances in a game which should have been higher scoring; and however it should not go unnoticed that Bolton had a couple of good chances which needed Szczesny to stretch and save one handed.

Lets just hope Arsenal can keep this winning up and beat the evil Spurs next Sunday. xx
